The recital opens with Schubert songs—Der Müller und der Bach, Heidenröslein, An die Musik and Du bist die Ruh—followed by selections from Schumann’s Dichterliebe and Myrthen, Brahms’s Liebestreu and Immer leiser wird mein Schlummer, and Mendelssohn’s Lied ohne Worte, Op. 62/1. After the interval, the programme continues with Rachmaninoff’s Melodie, Op. 3/3 and Vocalise, Op. 34 in arrangements by Maisky, then Shostakovich’s Sonata for Cello and Piano.
