Australian pianist James Dekleva opens his second Australia–Asia recital tour with a programme that moves from Brahms and Mozart to Mendelssohn, then continues after the interval with Tchaikovsky. The recital culminates in Tchaikovsky/Pletnev’s concert suite from The Nutcracker, alongside Tchaikovsky’s Dumka, Op. 59. Dekleva was a finalist at the 2024 Piano Island International Competition in Singapore, a quarter-finalist at the 2021 International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna, and received the Management’s Choice Award at the 2019 Steinway Galleries Australia National Piano Competition.
