South London artist Greentea Peng brings music shaped by self-inquiry and the tensions between pain and pleasure, engagement and withdrawal, expression and stillness. Her sound blends neo-soul, dub and jazz with psychedelic textures. After travelling and performing with a local band in Mexico, she returned to London and released her 2018 EP, Sensi, whose six tracks use sparse arrangements, dubby textures and minimal melodic movement around her soulful voice. Her 2021 debut album, MAN MADE, followed performances of “Downers” on COLORS and “Hu Man” on Later... with Jools Holland. Her latest album, TELL DEM IT'S SUNNY, continues her self-witnessing practice through affirmation, emotional maturity and self-acceptance, including the soundscape “BALI SKIT PT. 1” and voice-note-led “RAW”.
