South London neo-soul artist Greentea Peng brings a catalogue shaped by self-inquiry and the tensions between pain and pleasure, engagement and withdrawal, expression and stillness. Her music combines neo-soul, dub and jazz with psychedelic textures. After joining a local band while travelling in Mexico, she returned to London and released the 2018 EP Sensi, a six-track work of sparse arrangements, dubby texture and an earthy vocal presence. The programme traces subsequent milestones including “Downers,” performed for COLORS, and her BBC Later... with Jools Holland debut with “Hu Man,” before her 2021 album MAN MADE. Her latest album, TELL DEM IT'S SUNNY, continues a practice of self-witnessing through affirmation, emotional maturity and radical self-acceptance, including the rising-and-falling soundscape “BALI SKIT PT. 1” and the voice-note-led “RAW.”
