The Australian Ballet presents an interactive Storytime Ballet adaptation of Cinderella for children aged three and over. A narrator leads the under-an-hour performance as Cinderella, mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters, is transformed by her fairy godmother for the ball. Children are encouraged to dress in ballet-inspired outfits and dance from their seats.
David McAllister choreographs and produces the work, set to Sergei Prokofiev’s Cinderella, Op. 87, performed by Orchestra Victoria under conductor Jonathan Lo. The creative team also includes costume designer Louisa Fitzgerald, set designer Ishan Vivekanantham, original lighting designer Jon Buswell, and illusion designer Lee Cohen.
