Duration: 3hr

This workshop goes further into sewing terminology, tool and fabric selection. We will also cover cutting with a rotary cutter, quilting ruler and mat. You will create a lined tote bag with a pocket and handle to store your sewing projects or carry them to class. Designed for people who are new to sewing.

Cost $65, covers tuition, class notes, use of classroom tools, and interfacing.

BYO: Sewing machine (with power cord, foot pedal, and accessories) and a basic kit: bobbins, thread, scissors, tape measure, pins, etc. You will require two ½ metre pieces of co-ordinating quilting cotton fabric. Fabrics available for purchase in store.

Your Tutor: Cathie is an experienced fabric and yarn artist, quilter, bag maker, and designer. Mostly self-taught, she creates and sells work under Seventh Stone Design and leads at Village Creative Studio Cooperative.
