Tsumami Kanzashi Folded Fabric Flowers Class

Fri 13 Nov 9:30am - 11:30am

Village Creative Studio, Brisbane

Tsumami Kanzashi is a traditional Japanese technique focused on creating floral designs. Like origami, it uses fabric or ribbon to form individual petals.

In this workshop, participants will receive instructions on folding methods and assembling the flowers. The session covers making a covered button for the flower centre and provides options to attach a hair clip, mini comb, or brooch backing.

For this class you will be able to choose your kits. We will have Japanese prints, Christmas prints and various other fabrics.

$50 covers tuition and kits to complete two flowers plus instruction sheet to take home. Scissors, threads, needles and glue gun will be available for use in the workshop and are available for purchase in the shop.

Your Tutor: Cathie is an experienced fabric and yarn artist, quilter, bag maker, and designer. Mostly self-taught, she creates and sells work under the brand Seventh Stone Design and is a leader in the Village Creative Studio Cooperative.

While our address is on Main Rd, our shop is located at the rear of Tanja’s Café, on the corner of Oceanic St and Pye Lane.
