Learn to Sew Workshop - Level 1

Sun 15 Nov 9:30am - 1pm

Village Creative Studio, Brisbane

Duration: 3hr

This workshop introduces sewing machine basics, including operation, accessories, seams, gathering, topstitching, and buttonholes. We will also cover cutting with a rotary cutter, quilting ruler and mat. In this session you’ll make a machine mat and a pin cushion. Designed for people who are at the beginning of their sewing journey.

Cost: $65, covers tuition, class notes, use of classroom tools, interfacing, and poly-fill.

BYO: Sewing machine (with power cord, foot pedal, and accessories) and a basic kit: bobbins, thread, scissors, tape measure, pins, etc.

You will require ½ metre of quilting cotton fabric. Fabrics available for purchase in store.

Your Tutor: Cathie is an experienced fabric and yarn artist, quilter, bag maker, and designer. Mostly self-taught, she creates and sells work under Seventh Stone Design and leads at Village Creative Studio Cooperative.

While our address is on Main Rd, our shop is located at the rear of Tanja’s Café, on the corner of Oceanic St and Pye Lane.
