Sunprint to Story: Cyanotype as Collage

Location: Breezeway (outside pottery studio) at 11 Maple Street, Cooroy.
Join local mixed media artist Sue Bradshaw for a hands-on workshop making cyanotype sunprints and collage. You’ll unite light, objects and paper to create a visual story.
A little back story - in the 19th century, cyanotype began as a method for creating blueprints, technical drawings, and botanical studies. As an alternate photographic process, it’s shaped by season, time and the quiet surprise of exposure. Known for its traditional blue colour, it can also be toned and bleached into different hues.
Open to all skill levels, this workshop invites you to bring small objects and images to weave into your story. If you are not sure where to begin, Sue will offer inspiration, guidance, and a range of examples to spark ideas.
By day’s end, each student will leave with a finished sunprint story of their own.
If you'd like to use a special photo in your collage, send us the image beforehand and we will create a high contrast transparency for you. Please email your image to info@cooroybutterfactory.com.au (at least a few days in advance). The picture must be high contrast black and white and in a printable jpg , png or PSD format.
All other materials supplied.
Tea, coffee and morning tea provided (help yourself from CBFAC kitchen upon arrival).

About the Artist
Sue Bradshaw's work spans ceramics, eco-dyeing with plant-based materials, handmade paper, cyanotype photography, printmaking, and mixed media. She runs The Verandah Studio in Noosa, where she creates art and teaches creative workshops, including eco-dyeing on ceramics and cyanotype with a contemporary aesthetic.

REFUND POLICY
A full refund can be provided when written notification is received at least 14 days before the workshop start date and time. This allows us time to readvertise your space as we need full numbers to make workshops viable. Refunds are not provided for cancellations received after this time, for non-attendance, or for part-attendance (applies to a two or three-part workshop/ongoing course). We cannot offer a credit towards future workshops.

CANCELLATION OF AN EVENT DUE TO NOT REACHING CLASS NUMBERS
Thankfully this is an unusual occurrence, but it can happen. If we don’t reach the minimum number of bookings required to go ahead, we will notify you within seven days of the workshop date and issue a refund.

We work inside, well-protected from the weather. However, if driving is a safety issue, we may need to cancel. We will do our best to advise you by email before the start-time, but this may not always be possible due to power failures/internet reception/staff being stranded. Please check your email and junk mail for notices before leaving home. Refunds issued in full.
