Hand Building - Term 4

This beginner course will guide you through the fundamentals of hand-building techniques, from basic forms to functional pieces. You will explore various materials, tools, and decoration methods, gaining a comprehensive understanding of ceramics, as well as techniques for creating functional and artistic pottery pieces.

By the end of the 8 weeks, you will have a deeper understanding of the process of ceramics and the skills to glaze your creations.

This course includes a complimentary block of clay.

You will learn:

Basic hand building skills and knowledge

Understand of clay and firing

Explore decoration methods

Gain confidence in hand building with clay.

Available sessions:

Tuesday 1:00pm-3:00pm;

Tuesday 6:00pm-8:00pm;

Thursday 9:30am-11:30am;

Saturday 9:30am-11:30am *New Time - suitable for both Beginners and Intermediate students (with Tracey Richards).

Also available is Intermediate Hand Building on Tuesdays from 9:30am-11:30am

About: The Cooroy Butter Factory Pottery Studio is a community space for potters of all skill levels. It is well equipped with pottery wheels, a slab roller, an extruder, kilns and plenty of workspace. Work solo at your own pace, or join a class.
