This weekend is for couples who still love each other and keep ending up in the same painful place.

Maybe it's the same fight about money, the kids or sex. One of you reaches, the other goes quiet. Or maybe you're kind to each other and run a home well, but you've stopped feeling close. You miss being lovers.

It's for couples who want to change this together, before the distance grows. Some couples come because things are hard between them. Others come because they're good together and want to feel closer.

What you'll take home

You'll understand the cycle you get stuck in, and see that the cycle is the problem, not each other.

How it works

Two days, Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 5:30pm. We follow the seven conversations from Dr Sue Johnson's book Hold Me Tight, based on Emotionally Focused Therapy. Each conversation has short teaching, a video of a real couple, and time to talk privately with your partner. You won't be asked to share anything personal with the group. A small group of 10 couples.

It isn't the right fit if there is violence or controlling behaviour in the relationship, an affair that is still going on, or an addiction that needs treatment first.

Your guides

Tarisha Tourok, relationship and sex therapist with 15 years in clinical practice, trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy.

A bonus: you have two teachers. Tarisha teaches the weekend with her partner Mark. Mark is trained in men's work, polarity, breathwork and tantra, and supports the men, especially in the harder moments.
