Discover the beauty of plant-based watercolour in this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop. Explore the use of natural pigments from colour-rich plants such as cosmos flowers, madder root, and indigo. You’ll also experiment with other materials to create texture and special effects, including salt, dip pens, sticks, natural walnut ink, and beeswax crayons. Learn techniques to capture whimsical effects in your paintings and bring your botanical artwork to life.

You’ll work with Lutea natural plant paints to explore texture, salt effects, and expressive mark-making, combining dip pens, beeswax crayons, and walnut inks to create unique artworks inspired by nature.

Basic and a few advanced watercolour techniques

How to capture a whimsical effect in your work

How to combine other art materials with watercolours for special effects
