Two days, one epic show, all the rural action!

The biggest and longest-running two-day event in the district is back for 2026, bringing two jam-packed days of rural action, family fun, big thrills and good old-fashioned Mid Canterbury hospitality.

There’s something for EVERYONE at the Ashburton A&P Show - from little adventurers to farming fanatics, thrill seekers and competitive legends!

Saturday serves up a feast with a free umu, asian food and burgers, plus a whole lot of free fun for the kids, including animal petting, House of Bricks, Crazy Bikes, Treasure Hunt, meet our whacky Show characters, strike a pose at the face-in-the-hole photo setups and score some giveaways along the way!

Watch equestrian action, showjumping, dog trials, celebrity shearing, the fiery Chilli Eating Competition, digger demonstration and the Young Farmers District Challenge. Explore Home Industries, check out shiny new machinery and vintage tractors, markets, dancing and pet parade as well as a full carnival and sideshow both days.

From face painting and animal interactions to entertainment around every corner, there’s so much happening at the Ashburton Show! The famous Grand Parade rolls out at 2.30pm on Saturday, followed by a massive lolly scramble.
