You’re invited to the Auckland Knights Inaugural Rapid Open 2026, an NZCF and FIDE rated rapid tournament. Players of all ages and abilities are welcome!

Date: Saturday, 7 November 2026

Venue: Fencible Lounge, Howick Library, 25 Uxbridge Road, Howick, Auckland

Time: First round at 12:30 pm; prize-giving at 6:00 pm

Format: Seven-round Swiss, 15 minutes + 5 seconds per move

Entry fee: NZD $20 per player

Capacity: Limited to 80 players

Prizes

Boys: Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place; gold medals for 4th and 5th place.

Girls: Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place; gold medals for 4th and 5th place.

Age-group awards: Gold medals for the Best Under-8 and Best Under-10 players.

Auckland Knights club membership is not required, but all participants must be members of the New Zealand Chess Federation. Please complete registration and payment to secure your place.
