TAP SESSIONS NEWCASTLE
Tap Sessions returns to Newcastle on Sunday 11 October for another full day of tap at Perry on Parry Studios (Tap Pups), 65 Parry Street, Newcastle West - the same venue as our April workshop.
Four sessions. Different ages and levels. New material.
Whether you’re building your foundations, developing your technique, looking for a challenging Open/ Advanced session, or putting your tap shoes back on after years away, there’s a place for you on the floor.
10:00 - 10:45 AM
JUNIOR TAP FOUNDATIONS
Ages 7–10 | 45 minutes | $20
An energetic session for younger dancers exploring tap foundations, rhythm, coordination and musicality.
Clear sounds. Strong foundations. Plenty of movement.
Start strong. Find your rhythm.
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
INTERMEDIATE TAP
Ages 11–14 | 60 minutes | $25
For developing tappers ready to go further with technique, musical timing, rhythm and combination work.
We’ll work on sound, control and the relationship between what you dance and what you hear.
Build the technique. Find the music.

OPEN / ADVANCED TAP
Ages 15+ | 90 minutes | $35
A musically driven 90-minute session for experienced dancers.
Expect rhythm, phrasing, dynamics, technique, choreography and room to play with the material rather than simply reproduce it.
New material. Serious tapping. Room to explore.
2:00 - 3:00 PM
NEWY LEGENDS
Adult & Returning Tappers
60 minutes | $25
Newy Legends is back!
One of the highlights of our April workshop was getting generations of Newcastle tappers back on the floor together — people currently dancing, former students, teachers and adults who simply missed tapping. This session is for them.
You do not need to be dancing regularly. If tap was once part of your life — or still is — come and put the shoes back on.
Expect familiar vocabulary, rhythm, music, combinations, a few memories and a room full of people who understand why tapping never really leaves you.
Back to the floor. Back to the rhythm.
LEGENDS BUNDLE
OPEN / ADVANCED + NEWY LEGENDS
Stay for the full afternoon.
2½ hours of tap | $50
Ideal for experienced older teens and adults who want both sessions.
