🎨🌙 After School Art, Craft, Campfire Cooking & Survival Skills
Our term will run from 22 October until 10 December, with Thursday sessions from 4:00–5:30pm.
Children can follow their own interests and move between the spaces offered, with time to explore, experiment and bring their ideas to life.
🎨 ART & CRAFT
This weekly program invites children to slow down, observe, experiment and express themselves through artistic experiences inspired by contemporary artists and Australian art history.
Through process-based learning, children will be encouraged to explore ideas, take creative risks and develop confidence in their own artistic voice.
Throughout the term, children may explore:
• Mixed media abstract collage
• Sculpture and three-dimensional art
• Papers, textures, tools and materials found within an artist’s studio
• Abstraction through Australian artists and art movements
• Crafting with natural and recycled materials
🔥 CAMPFIRE COOKING (weather permitting)
we will explore a different food idea each week, inviting children to help prepare, cook and share something delicious around the campfire.
From damper and toasted sandwiches to baked apples and other campfire creations, children can discover new flavours, practise cooking skills and learn about safe fire practices with guidance from our facilitators.
🌿 SURVIVAL SKILLS & BUILDING
Children can explore practical bush skills and imaginative building projects, including:
• Supervised whittling
• Shelter building
• Building projects using loose parts
These experiences encourage problem-solving, collaboration and persistence, while supporting children to use tools safely and develop confidence in their own abilities.
