Yoshi Iwaya is a Japanese terrarium (kokerium) artist based on the Central Coast of New South Wales. His work recreates the calming beauty of natural landscapes from Japan and Australia, combining traditional Japanese aesthetics with Australian flora to create intricate living artworks.

As the lead artisan at Terra-ya, Yoshi has been creating and teaching Japanese-style terrariums for over 10 years through workshops, galleries, markets and boutique businesses across the Central Coast, Newcastle and Sydney. Originally from Kanagawa, Japan, his practice is inspired by his grandfather, who cultivated hundreds of handmade bonsai at the family silk farm, as well as his background in interior architecture. Since making Gosford home in 2020, Yoshi has drawn inspiration from the region's misty mountains and lush landscapes, which remind him of Japan.
