Dances of Universal Peace in Leederville (Q4 2026)

Fri 9 Oct 6pm - 7:45pm

Vincent Community Centre (Birak Room), Perth

A welcoming Friday evening circle of simple movement, shared song, and quiet connection.

No experience needed. Gentle, inclusive, and grounded — a moving meditation to end the week

The Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) are easy, guided circle dances where we learn short chants and gentle movements together. No dance experience, musical ability, or spiritual background is needed. Everything is taught as we go.

The dances include sacred phrases and mantras from different cultures and traditions, offered in an open, inclusive way. You don’t need to understand the words or sing “properly” — humming, singing “la la”, listening, and adapting movements to suit your body are all welcome, while staying connected to the shared rhythm of the circle.

This isn’t a performance, class, or high-energy dance night. It’s closer to a moving meditation in community — a chance to:

let go of the work week

get out of your head and into your body

experience shared rhythm and shared sound

finish Friday feeling grounded and refreshed

People come on their own or with friends. All genders welcome.

Curiosity is enough.

Room open from 5:50pm for cuppa and chat before we start. Session starts at 6:15pm promptly. Late-comers are always welcome to come in and join the circle for the next dance.

🌟 Connection & Community

No performance, no audience — just a group moving and singing together in a supportive circle. It’s like a communal practice where everyone participates equally.

🧘‍♀️ Mind-Body Reset

Think of it as a movement meditation or “heart-centered flow” — accessible, gentle, and deeply grounding without being physically intense.

🎶 Music + Movement

Simple rhythmic chanting makes it feel more like a shared experience than a class.

🌀 Open to All Backgrounds

Whether you’re spiritual, curious, creatively inclined, or just want something uplifting to do, the Dances invite you as you are — diversity is part of the practice itself.
