Post-rock band We Lost The Sea performs its landmark third album, Departure Songs, with musicians from The Metropolitan Orchestra and Vox, Sydney Philharmonia Choirs. The instrumental record was made after the loss of vocalist Chris Torpy and draws on failed but honourable historical events in which people acted for the greater good. Its songs trace stories including the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger disaster and David Shaw’s final dive. The performance runs for 2.5 hours, including support and an interval.
