What if you're not burnt out? But simply cut off from your wholeness.
What if the tiredness you carry isn't a lack of rest? But a withering of relationship?
Most of us spend our days indoors, on screens, braced against a world that won't slow down.
Our nervous system reads that as a threat with no end, so it never quite stands down.
We call it burnout. Underneath it is something older and simpler: we have become cut off from the living world we are made of.
You don't need another way to push through.
You don't need another morning routine, or productivity hack.
You need a way back. A practice. A living thread to the ground beneath the noise.
Nature-based Creativity Restores
Nature-based Creativity = Eco Therapy x Art Therapy
Within our bodies and our nervous systems, some ancient memory persists.
An ancient operating systems that restores wellness when we return to good relation with the earth.
Our nervous systems regulate, our brains heal, inflammation reduces, immune function rallies.
Similar benefits flow when we engage in simple creativity.
Nature-based creativity is like making art in, with, and from the living world.
It's not art about nature, but art made with the land and the more-than-human world as your collaborator.
It brings together two old forms of healing in one practice:
nature calms and restores the body and nervous system, and
creativity gives feeling shape, meaning, and a voice.
For one day, let the Rowlands Creeks catchment hold your hand while we experience what coherence feels like.
What We'll Be Doing
We walk slowly, the way the place asks to be walked.
We forage for our materials; pigments, waters, textures, the colours of this country.
We make simple ceremonies of arrival and belonging.
And we create letting what the living world is doing move through us into something unexpected.
No fixed syllabus. No performance. A series of invitations you take up as they suit you.
You don't need art experience.
You don't need nature experience.
This is a gentle and meaningful immersion.
Your hands already know what to do.
This day simply gives you space to feel what a creative practice in collaboration with nature might feel like.
What You May Feel
When you slow down in a container of care and intention, your body gets the message it has been waiting for: you are safe, you are held, you can rest.
The moving leaves, the water, the birdsong hold your attention gently, what researchers call soft fascination .
The part of your mind that's been straining all week can finally let go.
In studies of forest immersion, this is the body coming out of fight-or-flight: stress hormones drop, the heart settles, and the nervous system moves toward rest and repair. Add the quiet focus of making something with your hands, and you have a practice that calms and expresses at the same time.
This experience isn't doctrine, directive, or dissertation. It's a mud map on a piece of bark, a series of invitations. This is your invitation to explore a nature-based practice to see if it feels anything like coming home.
This day is for you if?
you're feeling dysregulated, disconnected, or tossed around by a world that won't slow down and you're drawn to nature, creativity, or practice as a way back to yourself,
you're a nature lover or nature curious and would like to be supported in deepening your connection,
you're creative curious or creative veteran like to be supported in starting or deepening your creative practice,
you're curious about the benefits that multiply when you combine nature immersion and art therapy (i.e. Nature-based Creativity).
