Paekākāriki Pride Festival 2026 Dance Party

Sat 24 Oct 7pm - 11pm

St Peter's Village Hall, Wellington

We're BAAAAAAAACK!

This year we lost two icons, outspoken supporters, unwavering allies of the LGBTQIA+ communities - Dolly Parton, Country Music Queen, and Tim Curry aka Frankenfurter from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. They died a day apart and devastated countless fans around the world.

Our dance party this year is a tribute and celebration of their aroha, fierce advocacy, allyship, and unapologetic flamboyant expression of joy. Which one are you?... or are you both?

Whether its big hair and rhinestones or fishnets, corsets, and heavy makeup - you choose your style and we'll do the rest!

We promise a night of absolute banger tunes from Vinyl&Proud, special guest DJ Panda, a cash bar, snacks for sale, a friendly and fabulous vibe, and oh yes, a dance-off and prizes for best costumes!

No BYO, R18 - be prepared to be asked for ID.

All proceeds from the dance will go towards our big ten year anniversary next year.

So come on up to the lab, and see what's on the slab...

There will be VERY limited door sales, no holds.

Just a reminder of our kaupapa / values:

Paekakariki Pride is an inclusive festival - we aim to have safe and welcoming spaces for our LGBTQIA+ communities and allies.

We believe trans women are women, trans men are men, and non-binary identities are valid.

We believe only you can define your sexuality and gender.

We acknowledge the untold harm that colonisation has had on tangata whenua, and in particular on takataapui communities.

We are grateful to mana whenua, Ngati Haumia for their ongoing support and awhi and we show respect and aroha for the whenua that we stand on.

When you attend our events, you do so in support of these values.

If you behave in a way that compromises these values we will respectfully ask you leave our events.

It's our way of creating a safe and loving space in our little corner of the world.

Pride is for everyone
