ULTIMATE Hybrid Shooting Stills & Video with Moses Aurelius and Canon

Sat 19 Sep 1pm - 4pm

Georges Cameras Chatswood, Sydney

Today’s creative brief rarely asks for just one thing.

You might be shooting campaign stills, product images, vertical reels, short-form video and social content in the same session, often for the same client and sometimes on the same camera.

That is the reality this masterclass is built around.

Join content creator Moses Aurelius for a practical hybrid shooting session using the Canon EOS R6 Mark III, exploring how to move between photography and video without constantly stopping, resetting and treating every deliverable like a completely different shoot.

Across one live session, Moses will work through a mix of stills, product imagery, vertical content, video and flash photography while explaining the decisions he is making as he goes.

You will see how he approaches a brief, decides what needs to be captured first, directs talent differently for stills and motion, changes settings without losing momentum and keeps the work visually consistent across different formats.

The point is not simply to show what the EOS R6 Mark III can do.

It is to show what a modern hybrid workflow actually looks like when one person is being asked to deliver more.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

During the masterclass, Moses will show you how to:

Plan one shoot around multiple deliverables

Move between stills and video without losing momentum

Capture horizontal and vertical content efficiently

Direct talent across both still and moving imagery

Use flash within a hybrid workflow

Adjust camera settings quickly while staying focused on the shoot

Keep a consistent visual style across reels, campaign stills and video

Prioritise what matters when the brief asks for everything at once

Build a more flexible workflow around one camera body

We’ll also look at one of the biggest challenges in hybrid shooting: knowing what to prioritise.

When the brief asks for everything, what actually matters first? Which shots need more time? What can be captured quickly? How do you avoid spending half the shoot buried in menus while the talent and client are waiting?

Those are the practical decisions that make hybrid shooting easier.

HANDS-ON SESSION

Once Moses has walked through his process, attendees will have the opportunity to try the EOS R6 Mark III themselves.

You will be able to photograph and film the talent on set, experiment with different approaches, compare still and video workflows and ask questions while you shoot.

If you already shoot Canon, it is a chance to see how the R6 Mark III fits into your existing workflow.

If you do not, it is simply an opportunity to get hands-on and see how the camera behaves in a real shooting environment rather than across a counter.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This session is designed for:

Photographers moving further into video

Filmmakers who increasingly need usable stills

Content creators working across multiple formats

Freelancers delivering both photo and video

Social shooters working with brands

Creatives who need to get more from a single production day

Anyone curious about a more flexible hybrid workflow

WHAT YOU’LL WALK AWAY WITH

By the end of the session, you should have:

A clearer framework for approaching a hybrid brief

A better understanding of how to move between stills and video efficiently

More confidence planning shoots with multiple deliverables

A stronger sense of how to direct talent across different formats

Practical hands-on experience with the EOS R6 Mark III

A better understanding of how one creative idea can carry across campaign, social and video content

Most importantly, you will have seen the whole process happen live rather than just seeing the finished images afterwards.
