Izaac Masters・The Homecoming Recital

Thu 5 Nov 7pm - 8:30pm

Christ Church Claremont - The actual church, Perth

Step back into the sounds of the nineteenth century...

Australian pianist Izaac Masters returns home from Amsterdam to present a fortepiano recital.

Join us for an evening of Mozart, Beethoven, and more performed in one of Perth's historic buildings. The evening will conclude with complimentary refreshments.

After being awarded one of Australia's most prestigious postgraduate scholarships from the Ramsay Centre in Sydney, Izaac went on to graduate from the class of renowned keyboardist Olga Pashchenko at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Izaac was a participating artist in: the 2025 Festival Oude (Early) Muziek in the Netherlands; the 12th International Mastercourse for Pianists in Poland; and in 2026, won the Bad Krozingen Prize in the finals of the International Fanny Hensel Lied Duo Competition in Germany with opera star Jesse Linke.

Izaac returns from Europe to invigorate Australia's classical music scene by celebrating the diversity of historical instruments.

An evening of Mozart, Beethoven, and C.P.E. Bach performed on a nineteenth-century piano.

The fortepiano reveals a remarkable range of tonal colour, character, and articulation, allowing audiences to hear familiar masterpieces in a radically different way.

Witness the drama of C.P.E. Bach and Mozart's fantasies through intricate and theatrical gestures revealed so clearly on the fortepiano. This is followed by Mozart's C minor Sonata k.457, drawing audiences in to an explosive end. After interval, the sweet and light-hearted Bagatelles of Beethoven from Op. 33 ease the mood only to culminate in the exciting and fantastic three movement masterpiece, Beethoven's Piano Sonata in F major, Op. 10 No. 2.
