Heilung presents a ritual-based live performance drawing on the sounds, traditions and spiritual practices of early civilisations. The collective combines hypnotic percussion, haunting and throat-sung vocals, ancient instruments, warriors, elaborate costumes, incense and ritualistic movement in a theatrical visual ceremony. Each ritual opens with an ancient prayer led by founding member Kai Uwe Faust; vocalist Maria Franz and producer Christopher Juul are also part of the collective. Singer-songwriter Lilith Max joins the bill, bringing songs shaped by dark folklore, mythology and fantasy. After a hiatus, Heilung returned to the studio in late 2026 to begin its fourth studio album, with new music intended to mark the group’s next chapter.
