Remembering Story Medicine is a monthly Sunday evening gathering for old stories told in old ways, heard in old ways, fed in old ways.
Feeding of each other
Come with a plate of food, and enjoy the amazing spread that other good hearted kin will bring to share. Meet, mingle, make friends, make new connections, make new kin.
Feeding each others’ hearts
Then we gather-in to hear the stories, and to speak aloud where we have been located by them, by them, where our hearts have become resonant or stuck, or struck, inspired, touched, unlocked, moved or cut up. These tellings often evoke deep feelings that we seldom get the chance to feel or express, even on our own, let alone in a room of strangers. And therein lies the medicine of these gatherings: they make kin out of strangers, by these ordinary old feedings of tummies hearts and stories.
Feeding the Ancestors
We ever remember the ones who live in our hearts, who went before us, around the fire or around the water, under shelter or under sky, by Moon, clouds or stars , and we speak true words, hallowed speech, blessings, prayers, secrets, poems, gratitudes, lullabies. We keep the fire going and remember.
