Elizabeth Knox In Conversation with Lynn Jenner

Sun 20 Sep 2pm - 3:30pm

Cornerstone Church, Whangarei

What a coup for Kerikeri: Elizabeth Knox at Cornerstone Church.

CNZM, Arts Foundation Laureate, Prime Minister’s Award for Fiction, and honorary doctorate recipient Elizabeth Knox is one of Aotearoa’s most honoured writers.

Events like this rarely make it to the regions — and when they do, they’re not to be missed!

On Sunday 20 September, Elizabeth joins award-winning Waipapa poet Lynn Jenner, whose latest collection, "The Gum Trees of Kerikeri", won the 2025 Kathleen Grattan Poetry Award, for an intimate conversation about writing, creativity, the stories that shape us — and Elizabeth’s powerful memoir, "Night, Ma".

With a literary career spanning more than three decades, Elizabeth has written some of Aotearoa’s most beloved and acclaimed novels, including "The Vintner’s Luck", "The Dreamhunter", "Wake" and "The Absolute Book". Her latest work, "Night, Ma", is a deeply personal memoir exploring memory, family, creativity and the writing life.

This is a rare opportunity to hear Elizabeth Knox in conversation in the Bay of Islands — and to spend an afternoon with two distinctive literary voices with a strong connection to our region.
