Handlebars of Horror: spooky stories about cycling

Thu 29 Oct 7pm - 9pm

Red Room, upstairs at Smiths Alternative, Canberra

An official Cyclonats Festival of Cycling Culture event, presented by Canberra by Bike Design Company and Smith's Alternative

Our gathering is simple. You'll hear spooky stories, and sometimes songs, about cycling and people from all works of life across the ACT and beyond.

Tonight our storytellers share frightful tales of things that went wrong during a ride, but they lived to tell them to you.

Julie Derrett - the former ABC Radio Canberra announcer will share stories about six decades of riding while legally blind.

Lenny - a shearer who recently rode around Australia on his recumbent tricycle to raise awareness about suicide prevention, and money for Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation.

Greg - on being hunted by serial killer Ivan Milat while riding from Sydney to Canberra in the early 1990s.

Lee - On 60 years of horror - good and bad adventures on bikes while racing and touring.

Make new friends and connect with old ones as we gather for the communal experience of storytelling.

Thanks again to Nigel and Beth from Smith's Alternative for hosting our storytelling sessions, and Bike Story Night for the inspiration.
