Hercules and The Bricks

Sat 19 Sep 8pm

The Workers Club, Melbourne

with Bizarrgo, C.C.T.V.

This September, Melbourne’s most miserable Rock N’ Roll band, Hercules & the Bricks, take the stage at The Workers Club off the back of their latest single ‘I Want To Die’ - a misanthropic mid-tempo chug in which an archetypal rake bemoans existence in a call-and-response with a small army of female backing singers. Constructed like a Russian nesting-doll of seemingly endless codas and bridges, by the time the chorus finally arrives, what began as a shambolic country-rock stomp has blossomed into a grandiose and hysterical Wall-of-Sound worthy of The Wrecking Crew.

They will be accompanied by their dear friends in C.C.T.V and Bizarrgo.

CCTV; the solo project of Goldminds front woman Courtney Constantinou the singer-songwriter and guitarist summoning her favourite sounds and spirits of the moody broody, alt/rock & roll variety. An ode to past lives, dreams and nostalgia that is guided by intuition, the natural world and a deep curiosity of the heart. Ethereal and alluring

Bizzargo, on the other hand are punky, post-punky, groovy and maybe quite silly, quite hopelessly romantic, quite TMI. A 4 piece rock n’ roll band who play hit after hit after hit! Featuring members of Shrimpwitch, Cable Ties and LOOBS. Songs to laugh, cry and party to.
