SHE'S SOLD

Written by Sam Brooks

Directed by Katie Wolfe

Auckland is obsessed with property. A house is never just a house. It’s a dream, a debt, a burden, a way out - if you can ever get one.

Inside an upmarket Tāmaki Makaurau real estate office, a group of ambitious women and one demon twink are hustling hard to stay afloat. Houses are damp, buyers are needy and everyone’s in a goddamned flood zone.

None of it stops the market.

At the centre are two sisters with very different ideas about survival.

Then a clever solution appears: three problem houses, three sellers. Sell them each other’s houses and close the circle - as long as no one looks too closely at what they’re passing on.

Fast, filthy and brutally funny, SHE'S SOLD is a dark comedy about real estate, whānau, money, whenua and the moral compromises people are prepared to call “good business” in order to survive.

Make your Sundays playful

Hot off the photocopier, we're bringing you three brand-new Aotearoa stories for your ears only.

This year, Silo supported seven talented playwrights to develop new work.

Now is your chance to hear Silo actors perform three of these new scripts in a series of play readings throughout September.

Round up your crowd for one, two or three nights of creative and playful new scripts, brought to life by some of the very best local actors and directors.

Ticket proceeds go directly to paying writers and creatives.

See you there!
