Bonsai Basics Workshop at Eva Richmond House

Sun 20 Sep 1pm - 3pm

Eva Richmond House, Melbourne

Celebrate the opening of Eva Richmond House with a hands-on bonsai workshop hosted by Botanicah.

Discover the art of bonsai in this beginner-friendly workshop, where you’ll learn traditional techniques to pot, shape and care for your own miniature tree to take home.

Rooted in Japanese tradition, bonsai is the practice of cultivating miniature trees with patience, care and intention. More than simply shaping a plant, bonsai is about creating a living piece of art and taking time to slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy the process of making something by hand.

This relaxed workshop will guide you through the foundations of bonsai, from selecting and preparing your pot to repotting, pruning, wiring and caring for your tree over time.

Whether you’re completely new to bonsai or looking to try a slower, more mindful creative practice, this workshop is designed to help you create something meaningful to enjoy in your home for years to come.

What you’ll learn:

• An introduction to the art and history of bonsai
