Late Night Knife Fight

Sat 17 Oct 8:30pm - 10pm

BATS Theatre, Wellington

Late Night Knife Fight is the monthly improv battle where three teams face off in a fight for glory, honour, and the audience's favour. The winner returns in the headline spot next month; the losers wail and gnash their teeth.

We'll bring the knives; you bring the judgement.

HEADLINING THIS MONTH: THE WODYSSEY (Kathryn Fitzpatrick and Thomas Ba)

The first rule of Knife Fight is... book early!

"Being handed a knife as I enter, albeit a plastic one, I could not help but get the feeling that this was going to be a more hardcore night of improv than I had experienced in a while (Late Night Knife Fight) has real potential to become a Wellington institution." - Art Murmurs

"Fundamentally precious" - Theatreview

Late Night Knife Fight is a joyful proving ground for improvisers creating new work and ensembles, offering development, coaching, and collaboration across companies and styles. An opportunity to catch the next big thing in improv before it takes flight, work developed at LNKF has gone on to full seasons and festivals, with Ginge and Minge (Spectacular Organised Chaos Fringe 2025, Breakthrough Comedian Wellington Comedy Awards 2024), Two Dope Teens (Best Improv Nelson Fringe 2018), The History Boy (Tahi 2026), Magnus Steele, and more in development.
