
Nautanki Theatre, in partnership with Urdu International Australia, proudly announces the launch of Khwateen Nama, an all-women Mushaira (Urdu poetry symposium). Debuting as a flagship event of the 11th annual Parra-Mela, this landmark initiative aims to establish a permanent annual platform celebrating female literary voices in the geographic and cultural heart of Parramatta. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Greater Western Sydney's premier South Asian arts festival, the inaugural edition of Khwateen Nama brings together seven exceptional contemporary Urdu poetesses and literary figures from NSW. The distinguished line-up for this historic maiden event includes:
Sadaraat (Presiding Poet): The highly respected Farhat Iqbal, guiding the evening's poetic journey.
Featured Poetesses: Dr Yasmin Shad, Dr Yasmin Zaidi, Tehmina Rao, Naila Huma, Huma Mirza and Saba Khan.
Emcee: Celebrated literary presenter Huma Mirza.
