Ghosts of the City

Sun 27 Sep 1pm - 2:30pm

Old Government Buildings, Wellington

Join Photographer Andy Spain and Architect Tina Williams for a walking tour through the streets of Wellington exploring the inspirations and histories of the buildings which feature in the GHOST FORESTS exhibition.

Ghost Forests is a photographic and moving image project that explores the ecological histories hidden within New Zealand's architecture and urban environment. It explores the relationship between buildings like the Wellington's Old Government Building — one of the world's largest surviving timber (Kauri) buildings—and the forests that supplied its construction material. The project seeks to reconnect architecture with its environmental origins.

Accessibility: the tour is on flat public footpaths, with a light incline along the terrace. Tours are limited to approximately 15 people. Booking Essential.

Weather: We will be in contact with ticket holders the day before the talk if the forecast looks unfavourable. Rain-check day 3-October
