Monotypes are a painterly form of printmaking, each one is an original artwork, created through a process that combines drawing, painting and print.There is plenty of room for experimentation, happy accidents and discovering something unexpected in every piece.

Materials To Bring
2 – 4 Sheets of acetate/Perspex/Acrylic in various sizes (thickness does not matter, transparent is better) – Good size is A4. This will be the size of your artwork.
Bring your paint. Mellissa will be demonstrating with acrylics, but oil paint can be used also. Your choice of colours.
Drying Retarder for Acrylics
A small amount of watercolours/gouache/watersoluble crayons, watersoluble graphite/carbon pencil
Brushes – bring a selection of sizes and type.
Paper — smooth or lightly textured, no heavier than 210gsm, larger than the biggest of your Perspex sheets. The pads of
A4 copy paper or equivalent
Pencils, cotton buds, rags and tissues
Baren – wooden spoon or doorknob, or metal dessert spoon
Water containers and spray bottle, tea towel
Sketchbook, and image references (Mellissa will be demonstrating landscape & still life)
