Sun 22 Nov 4pm - 7pm

EVENT Cinemas, Auckland

Celebrate 100 years of sport between India and New Zealand at the finale of the 100 Years of Unity Through Sport film programme: a free screening of Dangal at Event Cinemas Queen Street.

Based on a true story, Dangal follows former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat as he trains his daughters Geeta and Babita to become world-class wrestlers, defying the expectations of their village.

On Sunday 22 November, Auckland watches Dangal together. The finale plays at four cinemas across the city at 4pm: Event Cinemas Queen Street, Silky Otter Ponsonby, Silky Otter Takanini and Event Cinemas WestCity. This listing is for Event Cinemas Queen Street.

This is the hosted session, with a red carpet and photo wall. Arrive early from 3pm. The film starts at 4pm.

The finale closes a series of free Indian sports film screenings across Auckland through November, each matched to the sport being played in the city that week. Part of Auckland's Host City celebration of 100 Years of Unity Through Sport, brought to you by Tātaki Auckland Unlimited and Sport New Zealand, with Forum Films and Event Cinemas.
