Based in Sydney? Keen to meet some great people, while having meaningful conversations and supporting good causes?
Introducing Good Talk: a brand new brunch and dinner club series by Humans For Good. We're a diverse community of Aussies who want to turn their good intentions into impact, and do their part to make the world a better place.
This particular dinner is all about mental health and hosted by Jason, a lived-experience mental health educator, former pastor, youth justice worker and member of the Humans For Good community.
We'll be talking everything from depression to anxiety to human connection.
Dinner will take place at Kolkata Social by Plate It Forward: a restaurant that provides employment opportunities for newly arrived migrants and refugees.

What is Good Talk?
We're a different kind of dinner club. Our daytime and evening events are a chance to get to know a small group of other people who want to have a positive social and environmental impact, while directly supporting the work of a local social enterprise.
This looks like –
Good food: Share a meal at a local social enterprise cafe or restaurant that matches your interests and budget (keep an eye out for all upcoming brunches & dinners here)
Good causes: Have candid, authentic conversations about big issues like mental health, while funding employment opportunities and meals for people who need them
Good humans: Connect with new, purpose-driven friends and people to collaborate with, in a casual and relaxed space – versus the classic office or networking environment
What's included in your $20 ticket?
A seat at the table with new connections and meaningful conversation with a small, curated group of good humans in your city
Two meals that are donated to families facing hunger in conflict zones, including Gaza, through the UN World Food Programme
Support for your host from Humans For Good, who makes the event possible and is there to guide the night
A Whatsapp group chat before and after the event to stay connected
Humans For Good’s behind the scenes operational costs (including software and support from our event assistant), so that we can sustain these events and have the biggest collective impact possible
What’s not included?
Food and drinks: a set ‘Thali Tuesdays’ menu is an additional $45, which you’ll order and pay for your directly at the venue! This is a buffet with a bunch of different small dishes, usually including papad and tomato and date chutney, pulao, prawn malaikari, cholar dal, beguni and mango payesh. It also covers two additional meals that are donated to people who need them in Australia and India via Plate It Forward

Good Talk guidelines
During the event, please keep in mind that our hosts are not trained facilitators or mental health professionals – but community members who are there to share their learnings, and help to guide interesting and inclusive conversations.
A few other things to take note of and put into practice during the event:
Be a good human: we want the Humans For Good community to be a positive and safe space, where members are free to be their full and best selves. Please always demonstrate empathy and kindness toward other members. Check out our full code of conduct here
Listen and learn: Good Talk events are designed to be an inclusive space for anyone who is interested in doing a little more good in the world, so please make an effort to listen to and learn from those with differing perspectives, viewpoints and backgrounds
Share, don’t sell: we encourage you to share the great things that you’re working on, but do make sure it is educational or adds value in another way, rather than being sales-y or promotional in nature
Pay it forward: there’s so much magic in community, and we can achieve even more when we work together. Let’s keep up the collaborative vibes, and co-create a space for us to all contribute, give back and generally support one another as we work toward our goals
FAQS
Why organise brunches and dinners?
Humans For Good events (like Good Talk) bring together likeminded people in the way we have for thousands of years – around a shared meal. They're here to provide casual, inclusive and cosy spaces to explore different global issues and their solutions. We want to cultivate meaningful connections, dialogue, collaboration and shared impact. Join us to get to know, listen to and learn from a group of diverse and passionate change-makers.
Who is Good Talk for?
Our community is for people of all ages, backgrounds and occupations. Whether you're actively working in the social impact space, or curious about how you can make more of a difference in our local and global community, you're welcome to join us.
What do I do if I can’t make it anymore?
We have limited spots at the table available, so every person plays an important role.
If you can’t make it, we’re happy to offer a refund up to 7 days before the event, so we have time to find someone to take your place. Inside that 7-day window, tickets are non-refundable – but you’re always welcome to transfer your spot to a friend!
