Saturday Sounds: Leah Thomson

Sat 5 Dec 1pm - 2pm

Te Puni Tiaki - Whanganui Regional Museum, Whanganui

Discover live music in the heart of Whanganui Regional Museum with the Saturday Sounds session.

Held in the Museum’s Atrium, this new Saturday afternoon series celebrates talented local and visiting musicians across a diverse range of styles, creating a relaxed live music experience in the unique surroundings of the Museum.

On 5 December we feature a talented emerging singer–songwriter, Leah Thomson. Her songwriting is influenced by Lizzy McAlpine, Joni Mitchell, Adrianne Lenker, and Nick Drake and touches on experiences that are both deeply personal and familiar to all of us. Her voice is tender and strong and blends with her intricate melodies on acoustic guitar to create an intimate atmosphere. Fresh from ten days in Los Angeles at A Cappella Academy – an intensive singing camp for young people from around the world - Leah will be performing new material alongside rich personal covers of favourites from the genre.

Whether you’re discovering a new artist, enjoying live music with friends, or simply looking for a relaxing Saturday afternoon, Saturday Sounds is the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Admission is free, no booking is required, koha is always appreciated. All welcome.
