Live4Life Ballarat is hosting a blended Youth Mental Health First Aid course in November.
This course complements the Teen Mental Health First Aid education that is being rolled out across our 10 participating secondary schools and is part of the broader Live4Life Ballarat initiative. Adults who undertake the Youth Mental Health First Aid training course will have a better understanding of common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, eating disorders and psychosis. This course also teaches adults to learn how to identify the signs and symptoms of a developing mental health problem in a young person, how to have a conversation with them when they are in distress or crisis, and how to support them in receiving professional help.
This is a blended course which includes a self-paced eLearning component (approx. 4hrs), completed prior to the 1-day in-person session. You MUST commit to completing this component as well as the in-person session. Please do not book this course if you do not think you will be able to complete it.
Cost: $30 administration fee*
Further training costs are subsidised by the Live4Life Ballarat Partnership Group.
*If you fail to activate and complete your e-learning and course within 6 months, you will be individually charged the cost of the e-learning voucher (additional $70).
Other information: BYO lunch and snacks. Catering will not be provided for this course.
As there is a significant cost associated with the training (online course fees and in-person trainer costs) that are covered by the Partnership Group, there are no refunds for non-attendance. You may be able to attend another Live4Life course, but there are no guarantees.
