Asian Ink Techniques Workshop

Sun 20 Sep 2am - 5pm

Creative Room Art Space, Brisbane

Discover the expressive beauty of Asian ink painting and calligraphy in this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop.

Working with traditional brushes, ink and a selection of unusual Japanese papers, participants will explore the expressive possibilities of brush and ink, from bold, fluid marks to delicate, fine strokes. The focus is not on artistic experience or perfection, but on slowing down, paying attention to each movement, and discovering the unique marks that emerge when ink meets paper.

The workshop offers a kind of “manual reset”: a chance to step away from screens and everyday distractions and focus on the simple, tactile process of brush, ink and paper.

No previous art experience is required. All materials are provided, and participants will be guided through the techniques step by step.
