Friends of Mamma Chen’s Community Cinema is proud to present a screening of Muppet Treasure Island, supported by Bi+ Pride Victoria.
For his second outing at the helm, after The Muppet Christmas Carol, director Brian Henson takes Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo and company back to the golden age of piracy in an iconic adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel, Treasure Island. Building on the foundation established with The Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island takes a beloved story and blends it with The Muppet’s off-the-wall style of comedy and, once again, it works.
Joining the all-star Muppet cast is the legendary Tim Curry, who hams it up as fiction’s most infamous pirate, Long John Silver, leading a ragtag crew of misfits and miscreants on a treacherous voyage seeking Captain Flint’s long lost buried treasure. Featuring musical numbers, adventure, romance and plenty of swashbuckling, Muppet Treasure Island is a joy for kids of all ages.
Bi+ Pride Victoria is a volunteer organisation which works to protect the rights and improve the health and wellbeing of multi-gender attracted people across Victoria, Australia. SEATING
Seating is unallocated and will be on a first come, best seated basis, so please consider this in your plans. There will be limited beanbags available, and please feel free to bring your own cushions for additional comfort.We will also be opening up the bandroom door so that you can still view the film from the couch area of Mamma Chen’s if you require a sensory break.
If you have specific seating requirements, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

- The entrance of Mamma Chen's is on Albert St, with ramp access for mobility aids.
- There is an accessible parking spot and bathroom available.
- PLEASE TAKE A RAT TEST & MONITOR YOUR HEALTH BEFORE ATTENDING. WE WILL HAVE A AIR PURIFIER RUNNING IN THE BANDROOM. Masks are encouraged.
