End Of An Era: Steve Bug

Sat 7 Nov 2pm - Sun 8 Nov 4am

6 Patrick Street, Onehunga, Auckland 1061, New Zealand

This is it.

After eight years, the doors to Silent Studios close for the final time.

For our last night we've brought together old friends, local favourites and an artist who feels particularly appropriate to have back in the room. Steve Bug has spent more than three decades working in the space between house and techno, building Poker Flat into one of the defining labels of European underground electronic music and developing a sound grounded in deep house, acid, minimalism and, above all, groove.

He's also part of the history of this place. Silent Studios lists Steve among the international artists who have played here over the years, alongside the many local artists and community members who have made the venue what it became.

So the final night won't be about one particular genre. It will move through deep and melodic territory, house, minimal, techno and the strange spaces in between, before Logan Baker and Jake Rattler take the last B2B and bring things home.

Silent Studios was never really just a venue. It was an experiment and a home to many, now successful, up and comers. A lot of people built it, played in it, worked in it, danced in it and became part of it.

Now it's time to make room for whatever comes next.

But first, one last dance.
