What happens when we make space to listen? to ourselves, to one another, and to the changing world around us?
alone, together: Reflecting through Spring is a spring gathering of Candid Journaling Club exploring self-discovery, connection and the balance between the two through journaling.
Hosted by Candice Yi, founder of Candid Journaling Club, a music curator and a counsellor-in-training with a background in anthropology, research and creative practice, alongside Dr. Zoe Yang, a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner who combines Acupuncture and Herbal medicine with I-Ching practices, this gathering brings together different ways of reflecting and understanding ourselves.
Held around the full moon, Mid-Autumn Festival, inspired by seasonal change on Wurundjeri Country and traditional Chinese ways of understanding seasonal transition, we'll spend an afternoon reflecting on themes around Spring, change, courage, and renewal. Through guided journaling prompts, deep listening and contemplative practices, we'll explore where we might be ready to reclaim our energy, loosen what has become stagnant, and make space for what wants to grow.
Alongside journaling, the gathering will include a mini I Ching reading by Zoe, curated sound, tea and mooncake.
What to expect:
You will be guided through a grounding meditation, themes and prompts to reflect upon. There is no right or wrong way to write, and there will be opportunities to share, but it is completely optional and there is no expectation to.
This will be a phone-free space, giving us the opportunity to slow down, be present with ourselves and one another, and create some distance from the noise of everyday life. We invite you to help us co-create a collective space for reflection, connection, and curiosity โ and to explore what emerges when we give ourselves permission to reflect alone, together.
Whether you come alone or with company, we hope you leave feeling more connected to yourself, to others, and perhaps with a few new connections along the way.
Bring a journal, something to write/draw with, an open mind, and whatever you're currently sitting with.
A portion of proceeds will be donated to First Nations Futures.
A ticket includes:
Unlimited tea throughout the gathering
Homemade mooncake
Grounding exercise/meditation
Guided journalling sessions
Silent writing time (no phones)

Optional sharing and conversation
a personalised mini I-Ching reading by Zoe
We look forward to co-creating the space with you ๐ฟ
