Dermot Kennedy returns to Melbourne this November on his upcoming international tour, following the release of his new album, The Weight of the Woods.

The Weight of the Woods features tracks including “Honest,” the anthemic lead single “Funeral,” and “Refuge.” Kennedy wrote and recorded much of the album at a studio near his home in rural Ireland with close collaborator Gabe Simon, known for his work with Noah Kahan and Lana Del Rey.

Across its 14 tracks, the album draws inspiration, energy, and strength from Kennedy’s native Ireland.

Irish singer songwriter Dermot Kennedy delivers cinematic folk-pop driven by raw emotion, powerful vocals and vivid storytelling. Rising from Dublin’s busking scene, he broke through with Without Fear, which became the best-selling debut album in Ireland and achieved Platinum status in 12 countries. Songs like “Outnumbered” and “Power Over Me” showcase his blend of acoustic intimacy and arena-ready scale, earning billions of streams worldwide.

Dermot continues his evolution with Sonder and the EP I’ve Told the Trees Everything, leading into his third album The Weight of the Woods. Working with producer Gabe Simon, he draws inspiration from Ireland and personal growth. Having toured globally and shared stages with artists like Noah Kahan, Dermot Kennedy connects deeply through honest songwriting and powerful live performance.
