Long Lunch 2026: A Feast Beneath the Figs

Ten Remarkable Years - Saturday 19 September 2026

Since our 125th birthday celebrations in 2017, Long Lunch - A Feast Beneath the Figs has become one of the most cherished traditions in our School community. More than a signature event, the Long Lunch carries the heart and creativity of Lisa Hooper, an Old Girl, colleague, and much‑loved member of our IGGS and IJGS family whose vision has shaped this gathering for nearly a decade.

In 2026, for our tenth Long Lunch, we’re refreshing the format to create a vibrant, social, cocktail‑style celebration; the perfect way to honour the event's legacy while giving it one final spectacular moment. This last Long Lunch will make way for our 135th anniversary celebrations in 2027, a milestone year that will bring a series of special events unique to our history and community.

This year’s Long Lunch will feature:

Endless substantial canapés (more than you’ll be able to eat!)

Cocktails, Beer, Wine and refreshments

Fantastic entertainment

A relaxed, social atmosphere beneath the iconic fig trees

And in a special moment for our community, the first details of our 135th anniversary celebrations and events will be revealed exclusively at this year’s Long Lunch. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate where we’ve come from and get a first glimpse of where we’re headed.

We warmly invite our community, past and current families, Old Girls, staff, and supporters, to join us for this final Long Lunch hurrah. It will be a celebration of connection, memory and the spirit that has shaped this event for ten remarkable years.
