Screen n Swig

Sun 15 Nov 5:30pm

Takapuna Beachside Cinema, Auckland

Screen 'n' Swig aims to be the festival that isn't a festival, that allows filmmakers a place to showcase their work and network in an environment that prioritizes in-person connection in an age that denotes it.

I've been in this industry for nearly 20 years and over that time I have had the luxury of witnessing it in all of its different shades and colours. But the one thing that has always remained prevalent is the need for a platform where we can not only showcase our work ... but to also celebrate it with each other.

I know so many people that have films collecting dust that are begging to be seen, why not let them see the light of day and enjoy them with your fellow filmmakers?

Film Festivals are great and will always have their place in our industry, but accessibility and exclusivity are always an issue.

We will host periodic screenings of independent short films with a pre-assigned lineup on a first-in-first-served basis. Cost will be covered by attendance to reduce exclusion based on income or financial circumstance.

Art and togetherness are needed more than ever right now, so let's do what our leaders are not, and promote it.

We have a great lineup of films for the evening:

'Shadows' by Chris Lambert

'Kiwi Dream' by Ludwig Peralta

'Cure.Net' by Veekrant Raj

'Burt' by Richard Lambert

'When the Sun Goes Down' by Ka Wee Teong

'First Kiss' by Tineke Robson

'Full Moon Baby' by Nick Cornea

Our first screening went well and thankfully because of that, we have another great lineup of films for you all to enjoy, along with a night of fun and great yarns.

Come along to our second Screen 'n' Swig night!
