We wanna have a lot of forks in a backpack — Lola Borroni and Hannah Vella

Sylvia Staehli Theatre - Dancehouse, Melbourne

— You are what I carry

A single backpack distinguishes the performers, symbolising accumulated intake: what has been gathered, carried, and internalised.

Nothing is ever static; everything exists in a state of becoming. Each action initiates a new reaction. Each choice creates a different ending.

We wanna have a lot of forks in a backpack explores digestion as metaphor: a chain reaction of selection, breakdown, and transformation. Beginning with the fork as an extension of the hand, the work examines choice; what we take in, what we reject, and how every action produces consequence.

Through physical transformation and repetition, We wanna have a lot of forks in a backpack questions what we choose to absorb and how those choices shape who we become.
