Middle Districts Lions Club is the organiser of the annual Lions Market Day in The Square, held every Saturday of Labour Day weekend in October.
The Lions Market Day (previously the Old English Faire) has been running since 1956. The Square — the heart of Palmerston North’s shopping area — is transformed into a bustling hub of activity.
The Plaza corner of The Square is home to over 80 craft stalls, offering a diverse range of products and experiences for visitors, along with many food trucks. This year, we’re excited to add a full day of entertainment from local music artists, bringing even more energy and atmosphere to the event.
Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect at Lions Market Day:
Hot & Cold Food & Drinks: Around 10 different food trucks serving delicious treats and refreshing beverages.
Live Local Music: Enjoy performances throughout the day from talented local artists.
Activities for Children: Fun‑filled entertainment for the little ones.
Arts & Crafts: Handmade creations crafted with care.
Quality Wares: High‑quality products built to last.
Clothing: A wide selection of fashion options.
Jewellery & Trinkets: Beautiful accessories and gifts.
Plants: Add some greenery to your home or garden.
Wellness Products: Items to support well‑being and self‑care.
The Lions Market Day is an excellent opportunity to support local artisans, discover hidden gems, enjoy live entertainment, and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of The Square. Mark your calendars and get ready for a day filled with excitement, music, and community spirit.
The Lions Market Day is not the place for political, religious, or contentious material or views.
