Through a couple of readings and prompts, participants will find ways back to the poetry place (the same place, where poetry wells—but each of us finds in their own way at their own pace). A place of deeper being and seeing from which a more resonant saying arises. Bring a poem you'd like to share, if you like, but there will be a chance to write in class, to experiment with different ways of seeing and shaping poems (through form and rhythm and image)—so that they emerge from your pen, less like a thesis or a story, and more like places a reader can enter and be changed. No particular level of experience is required; come ready to write, explore and find your way back to the poetry place.
