Creative Stitching Inspired by Boro

Sat 28 Nov 10:30am - 3pm

The Sculpture Park at Waitakaruru Arboretum, Hamilton

Join Pip Steel as she guides you through the ancient Japanese method of stitiching. Boro (originally Boroboro) is a traditional Japanese textile technique of layering, patching, and repairing worn clothing and bedding, using simple running stitches. Unlike neat Western patchwork grids, boro embraces an organic, spontaneous layout of overlapping shapes and dense parallel or crossed stitch lines.

Join us here at the Park, to learn this new approach to mending, adding a creative and ancient layer to your projects.
