Tuesday Studio Sessions are a chance to develop your art practice over time in a small, supportive group setting. Designed for both beginners and more experienced artists, each four-hour session combines a formal lesson with generous studio time, so you can build skills, explore ideas, and continue working with guidance from an experienced tutor.
Sessions run from 9am to 1pm, with a structured lesson from 9am to 10.30am, followed by time to work on the lesson or on your own artmaking with coaching and mentoring available through to 1pm.
On the first Tuesday of each month, sessions are led by Tim Hocking, renowned for his life drawing teaching and fascination with ceramics. On the third Tuesday of each month, sessions are led by Creagh Manning, a Shepparton-based artist with more than fifty years of painting practice and decades of teaching experience.
Lessons will begin with structural drawing fundamentals, including perspective, and may build into drawing form, tone, rendering methods, composition, and expressive design elements. Participants will be encouraged to move beyond simple “copy and draw” habits and into more inventive ways of making images. With a maximum group size of 10 to 12 people, later sessions can also respond to the interests and needs of those attending.
This is not just a one-off class. It is a space to keep turning up, keep testing ideas, and keep growing your confidence and skill as an artist.
