This October, PURE POURS returns to Brisbane for its second year, bringing the wines, people and stories of New Zealand's celebrated Central Otago wine region to the city.

On Tuesday 20 October, The Lodge on James Street will play host to Pure Pours | Central Otago NZ Wine Festival, bringing together over 20 of Central Otago's most exciting producers for one evening of roaming tastings in the heart of Fortitude Valley.

Central Otago is unlike anywhere else in New Zealand - a land of crisp mountain air and dramatic alpine landscapes, shaped by scorching summers, freezing winters and some of the most epic scenery in the country. It's this extremity that gives the region's wines their signature intensity, and has helped build a reputation for Pinot Noir that now stretches around the globe.

Your ticket gets you into the room to taste it all: aromatic, high-altitude whites, richly textured Chardonnays, méthode traditionnelle sparkling, and the perfumed, powerful Pinot Noirs Central Otago is best known for.

Across the evening, you'll move freely between wineries - a mix of long-standing family estates and small, limited-release biodynamic and organic growers - drawn from subregions including Bendigo, Bannockburn, Gibbston, Pisa, Lowburn, Alexandra and Wānaka. Pour by pour, you'll build a picture of a region that punches well above its size, and get to put faces and stories to the labels along the way.
